Welcome to DragonFly’s Rest
I am a respected and valued community member and experienced Grief and Bereavement Counsellor with more than 12 years in private practice and training delivery.
I bring to the community my passion for service and the importance of connection at a time of loss. My quality reputation extends nationally in both therapeutic care and training.
I developed our beautiful centre to offer education through workshops, training, grief and bereavement counselling, and the important work as an end-of-life consultant.

Leanne is a member of the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement.
I share often –
In one’s lifetime we will experience 1000s sorrows and 10000s joys.
We all will be touched by the darkness of sorrow and the light of joy – we can’t have one without the other.
There is no distance between happiness and sorrow or life and death, they go together. Sometimes one feels happy and life seems bright and sometimes one feels sad and life seems miserable.
Joy and sorrow work together. Creation and destruction go hand in hand. One cannot find even one man who has been only praised, never condemned or always condemned and never praised. Both go together.
The balance is maintained. An individual wants gain but not loss, joy but not sorrow, life but not death and he wants praise, never condemnation. He then forgets the universal rule. In this dualistic world, nothing comes alone. Everything is in pairs.
Explore the sorrows of life. Step into the discomfort of loss you will find the joy of life.
Your grief deserves support to fully express, explore and in developing self awareness you will honour your grief and the importance emotional wellbeing.
The South West Grief & Loss Centre was originally developed to build community connection and encourage conversations to move through grief with understanding and awareness.
Today the centre has evolved, and with the direction of DragonFly’s Rest l am proud to know my work is strengthening our communities compassion and the conversation of death, dying, grief and bereavement is becoming easier for many.
